Tipsy Turn over
On a beautiful Sunday morning rose a woman by the name of Sandra Williams. She got out of bed, out and about to get ready for work. Sandra a thirty two year old faithful Christian with green eyes and black wavy and luscious hair, had a good and simple life until she faced a tragic moment in her life where she forgot what it is to value and appreciate life.
It was 10am where Sandra rose and got ready for work. As usual she woke up and did her regular get ready basis. She showered, brushed her teeth and headed downstairs fro breakfast. As she came down stairs there was her wife Sheila, cooking eggs, bacon, and hash browns. “Morning baby whatever your cooking sure smells like you put a lot of love into it” said Sandra. As there was no response back Sheila just kept flipping the pan leaving a very cold shoulder as well as a grin as if there was something going on in her mind. “Babe is you okay? You have not said a word since I came down stairs” said Sandra. As Sandra was about to say something Sheila turned around with a heavy grin and a tear that started to flow down her cheek bone.
As the moment became heavily intense Sheila just kept starring at Sandra, with more tears that stared to pour down as if she had something to say but had no courage to say it. “Sandra I went to the doctors like you told me to and my results came in, I have cancer and the doctor gave me at least a year to live” said Sheila. As the room became colder and colder then the ice tundra itself Sandra was silenced. Both women just starred at each others eyes with so much grief and regret, until Sandra had the picked up the ability to speak again. “I cannot handle this right now, baby without you my world doesn’t spin” said Sandra. With both women filled with sadness and tears that started to flow like waterfalls, Sandra rose from the kitchen table and sprung out without even saying goodbye.
At this point Sandra was already late for work, where she decided to walk it rather then take the bus. As Sandra was walking on her 17th block she came across an old man that was sitting right on the stoop of her work asking for donations. The old man was short, husky, and had a rugged look to him but had a wise look on him. There he was standing holding a sign that said donate a dollar and your wish will come true. Sandra walked right passed the old man and after passing him she turned around returning as well as pulling out a dollar out of her purse. “At this point I got nothing to lose for I already lose everything that’s good in my life and the only thing I wish for is to never been born” said Sandra. The old man grabbed Sandra’s hand and said “you are hurt I see yet so lost as well.” Sandra responded “you don’t even know me; I don’t even know why you’re speaking when I helped you out.” As the old man shrugged he said “why thank you for your donation for I will grant you the wish that you desire. For after tonight you will truly cherish life and learn the value of living.”
Sandra didn’t really care much of what the man said, as she walked up stairs, instead of taking the elevator like usual. When she arrived and opened the door her boss came out and said “do you know what time it is as well as do you know what time you’re supposed to be at work today?” Sandra just froze glaring at her boss and literally walked right passed her boss and started working. As the moment became very intense Sandra boss responded “Sandra what’s wrong with you? You don’t look okay nor have you ever been late for work.” Sandra turned around and started to cry very heavy again, she couldn’t take the news anymore, and broke down on the floor screaming “oh lord why me? Why must I be punished and lose the only thing that’s left for me to live on this Earth. Lord you hear me take me instead at this I do not wish to live without the person I love the most.
The room became so quiet that the only thing you can hear is Sandra commotion. “Honey I think you need a break, I am giving you a week off to collect your thoughts and put yourself back together” said Sandra’s boss. Sandra got up, took her stuff and left. With no work and the tragic news bottling up inside her, Sandra kept walking Higgins Boulevard until she saw a small bar that was open. As she stepped inside and sat on the bar chair, the bartender asked “what are we having tonight?” “Give me the strongest shit you have, and make it on the rocks” said Sandra. As hours passed by and Sandra still at the bar drinking her 8th drink thinking and reminiscing of all the great times she had with Sheila with the bartender. It was getting very late as Sandra rose from the chair she said “oh look at the time I, I, I, mu, mus, must be going now.” As she started to walk out, the bartender asked “hey lady, are you going to be okay to walk in this condition?” But Sandra walked out so fast she didn’t even say thank you nor a goodbye.
At this point Sandra was very drunk and could barley see where she was going. As she kept walking down the boulevard without a clue on where she was going Sandra looked to her left and saw the same old man that took the dollar, there he stood in the middle of the road, smiling and holding the same sign. “what are you doing here, oh I see your some stalker well let me tell you so far my life is nothing and you my friend have a dollar and I got no wish” said Sandra as she walked up to him in the middle of the street. As she got closer and closer the old laughed harder and harder. “Did you hear me, of you still want that dollar and your front teeth you better start making that wish happen, I am done living on this Earth if I can’t be happy” said Sandra. As she took her last front step the man disappeared and from Sandra’s back side came a light that got brighter and brighter that eventually turned into a huge boss that smashed Sandra.
Sandra was hit by a bus, yet Sandra didn’t feel like she was dead. Sandra rose from the ground and her world lit beneath her eyes allowing her to see the whole world and future in the palm of her hands. “Where am I? What’s going on? Said Sandra. You are higher then the living, for you doesn’t even live at all” said the old man that appeared to be the same old man that accepted the dollar. Sandra was very frightened and nervous if her soul had vanished out of her body. Still very frozen Sandra said “who are you really? What did you do to me?” She said. I am what you call the master of the Earth, the creator, I am God granting you the very last words that came out of your mouth, and that is to be diseased, in fact to never even be born” Said God
“Lord please I was going through a tough time, today my world told me she has less than a year to live and I don’t have a reason to live is she doesn’t” said Sandra. With all the grief God had seen in Sandra he struck his hand and said “ for I will grant your wish this evening, I shall use my powers to take all your pain and grief away so you wont have to feel sad nor have to feel what love or death of a loved one feels like.” Sandra was still frozen yet started to actually pull out a smile that hasn’t came out of her since she heard the tragic news. “Oh lord thank you so much you don’t know how much this means to me” said Sandra. God just looked at her and said “don’t thank me thank your self.” A huge light appeared followed by a huge vortex like noise vanishing Sandra.
It was another beautiful yet same Sunday morning where Sandra got up, and got ready for work. She as usual showered, brushed her teeth, and came downstairs to make breakfast. As she came downstairs she looked and smelled absolutely nothing but the hunger in her stomach. Sandra made breakfast and left to work, not ever knowing what love actually feels like.

ReplyDeleteWow! That story had my eyes glued to it the whole time! I really enjoyed it, it was sad but very interesting. You had me entertained the whole way through. There were a few spelling errors you had made in your story. Some of your words didnt make sense at times as well but i was still able to understand what you were trying to let your readers know. Your words were pretty strong as well, good vocabulary. I really liked the characters you chose for your story. It felt like i was reading a story straight out of the twilight zone. The ending was the biggest twist of all but i think that was the best part. You left me with questions and eager to know what would happen next so good job on having a good cliffhanger. You did a great job over all. Well done!
Ryan's essay was awesome. It was very interesting. There was some mistakes that you had but I could still understand what you were saying. Audience would love this because it is very entertain. You did great!. same as bryana I think ending was great. Its awesome.

ReplyDeleteFirst thing that comes most into my head is probably spelling errors and missing punctuation marks. Your story is very detailed and well put out, but with the grammar mistakes, spelling errors, and missing punctuation marks, it takes away from the story and leaves the reader not reading your story but saying, "oh, you missed a comma there" and just totally have the story fly right by their heads.
DeleteOther than that, the story was great. It was a very original idea and a very interesting ending. Not only did the cliffhanger catch me, but pretty much the whole story I felt like there was pretty much a cliffhanger all over the story because everything was so unpredictable.
The voice of the character is pretty stable. Your character’s voices did not go all over the place from happy to sad for no apparent reason, so the flow of your story was excellent. I feel the anger and sadness of Sandra which is a good thing because you want your audience to know how the characters are feeling to grab the audience's attention. I can tell that the audience of your story is made for mature young adults and I am sure this story was to entertain and inform your readers.
The evidence backed up all the stuff you have said and that's good. Structure and organization of the story is good. You just need to learn how to give out an error free paper; error free of spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
